I have my UpdraftPlus back-up in an email. I need to restore my site. If I move the files to somewhere that UpdraftPlus can access, first where is the best place, second how to I point the restore to that place.

UpdraftPlus RESTORE Worked!
Just a quick thank you to UpdraftPlus for restoring my friend’s website after I absolutely obliterated it by updating the Atahualpa Theme. Fortunately, I had installed UpdraftPlus onto her website earlier in the year, and tonight I am so glad I did. The website was absolute wreck after updating the Theme. Well, guess it is time to switch themes!

Multiple bugs caused by exesive memory use
Hi guys, thanks for the great plugin.
By way of background UpdraftPlus always worked great for us until our host changed our server then backups stop being made and we got the
WordPress has a number (#) of scheduled tasks which are overdue. Unless this is a development site, this probably means that the scheduler in your WordPress install is not working.
We could not figure it out so we just made custom cronjobs on the server and that seems to work.
That may be completely unrelated
here is today’s problem
When I have UpdraftPlus activated along with yoast SEO plugin and my theme’s (Uplift by Swift Ideas) page builder enabled. I get various bugs and 500s on the page editor, customizer and theme options pages. I get error messages like

Fixes them. It seems to be the same if I replace Yoast SEO with all in one SEO.
Here is the site, at the moment we have UpdraftPlus disabled

Website hacked, want to restore backup files, but can’t find them?
My community newspaper’s website was recently hacked and I’m trying to work with my web hosting company (Doteasy) to get it back up and running by restoring a backed up version. However, I’m trying to do this as a volunteer with no knowledge of the backend workings of a website. So please, bear with me. They are telling me to ensure that I have a “clean copy of my site” that can be re-uploaded.
In September I backed up my website using UpDraftPlus (though I didn’t really know what I was doing, I muddled through the process and am now wondering if I missed a step). The log says that the backup was completed, but it says that “No email will/can be sent – the user has not configured an email address.” I’m not sure I did this right and whether I have access to the backed up file to be restored?
The log also notes “No remote despatch: user chose no remote backup service.” I’m wondering where I can find my backed up zip file if it wasn’t emailed to me and I didn’t choose a remote backup service? What’s it called? How do I know I’ve found it? Is it possible that I went through this whole backup process but the backed up files are gone/lost?
Please help!
Mingle Forum back up with UpdraftPlus
With UpdraftPlus does it also backup all the posts on our Mingle Forum plugin?
UpdraftPlus “disappeared”
Hi community,
after updating UpdraftPlus to version 1.12.25, I missed the UpdraftPlus settings.
On the Plugins page I saw a notice like “Plugin UpdraftPlus disabled, updraft.php missing”.
When I tried to re-install the plugin, I get the error message “Destination folder already exists”.
Has anybody an advice how to continue, e.g. how to restore to the previous UpdraftPlus version ?
Best regards from Hamburg
Thomas
Best WordPress backup plugin
Very good plugin and easy to use.
Very Good at Identifying Infections and keeping you informed.
The free version is very good at checking the database for infections but I highly recommend purchasing the Premium version so you can scan the entire website (i.e. Database and the public HTML).
You cannot be too safe when using a database driven website. Good procedure will keep your site safe.
1. Delete all Plugins and Themes you are not using. Keeping them around is a liability.
2. Keep your theme and all plugins up-to-date.
3. Before making changes create a backup of the entire site. (highly recommend UpdraftPlus Backups Plugin) Once you choose a backup method, test the backup by restoring the complete site. Just because the program backs up your site does not mean it will restore the site the way you want.
4. Always, after making changes, run the scan to make sure no infections came in with the changes.
5. When Wordfence finds no infections, create a complete backup of the site.
If your site becomes infected, restore from that last clean backup.

Brilliant backup tool
I have used UpdraftPlus for a few years now and the premium version allows me to move sites around, create backups, create duplicate sites to test ideas on etc. It is a long time since I have touched any real code and so find UpdraftPlus a great way to do the heavy lifting of managing my sites and allowing me to create test environments without any real tech knowledge. Wouldn’t use anything else.
Useful tool
I have been using UpdraftPlus for about 6 months and am very satisfied. Whether the restoration works, I can not say however. Overall but a great tool!
upgrade failure
The upgrade of the plugin fails and it freezes the site in a maintenance mode.
The plugin version currently installed is: 1.12.29
restore former Worpress versions
Hi,
It seems like WordPress versions are not restored with a UpdraftPlus restoration.
Am I right?
If yes, why not? Why is this not implemented? There must be good reasons, I am pretty sure.
How could you achieve then to have the WP version restored, which you had before you did a backup, then a WP update and a restoration.
Thx, Markus
Got A Warning
I need to restore my site to an earlier version of WordPress so I got your plugin. And I did a backup and was trying to do a restore. And this was the notice I received:

Performance: Updraftplus causing errors/unavailability while running
Hello!
I’ve used this plugin on 2-3 smaller sites before and have not run into issues.
However.. I acquired another site that has a large upload folder (mainly images, some that were oversized/poorly compressed). I believe in total it had around 5-6000 files and around 1.9 gigs. I reprocessed all the images to get it to around 950 megs.
Current size
Plugins: 58 MB
Themes: 8.8 MB
Uploads: 932 MB
Others: 59.9 MB
That said… Even with an upload folder of 1 gig this site seems to go unavailable for about 60 minutes while the backup process runs. Note that I increased the php mem limit to 512mb and set the file size truncation to 400mb. I guess the time it takes to zip everything up isn’t bad but my site goes dead if I include the uploads folder in the backup process.
PHP version: 5.6.29
WP_MEMORY_LIMIT WordPress memory limit 40M
WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT Administrative memory limit 512M
Entire log of last backup is available here:
http://pastebin.com/rLRPghVd
Again.. Backup complete’s successfully and I’m ok with it taking an hour (I use a namehero reseller plan so I know my cpu availability is constrained) but I’m surprised to see the entire site basically lock up while it runs… especially with 512mb allocated..
Am I overlooking some performance settings (maybe something to enable APCu if it helps)?
I’ll note that yes the host does utilize litespeed but it’s not like the process stops (as far as I can tell) so I haven’t placed the ht.access lines mentioned in the faq related to that yet.
Any help is appreciated. cheers and thanks for all you do!
getting updraftplus as installation failed
please help me in installing updraftplus for restoring my archived images
Where Are Pages Kept?
I’ve been using Updraft Plus for months now and love the heck out of it.
I have my backup, and the subsequent zip files (others, plugins, themes, uploads) and gz.
I want to restore some of my website Pages from an older backup, but for the life of me, I can’t find them in the above mentioned files.
I’ve unzipped them and looked inside, but can’t find them.
Where are they hiding?
Thank you!
