I'm afraid there I have a problem. For the site in question (hanvec21.fr) I do not have access to the server. (It's for that reason we are looking to migrate the site onto a different host). So I'm not sure how to access the config file without asking the guy running the server to intervene. I can do that, but he is slow, very slow.

Is there anything else I can try?

By the way - I installed your plugin on another site I'm in the process of migrating and it worked fine, using Firefox. I was able to upload the 3.9mb plugin from UpdraftPlus. Makes me wonder whether the problem is not server related.

Ah - if you're wanting to migrate the site, then you can install the free version of UpdraftPlus on the source site; its only on the destination side that you need to install a paid version. If you do that, it should avoid the problem (i.e. install using the plugin installer in WordPress that can download directly from the WordPress plugins directory).

I also suspect it's server-related - the 2Mb point is usually the first time that a chunk gets written to disk, so I suspect it may be file permissions.

Hi,

I got problems on 3 of our websites, because a zip error occurs. I (sometimes) can make backups without warning when i'm logged in, but the scheduled ones won't work at all. Maybe the scheduler is broken?

In the logfiles, there are some warnings and errors:

WARNINGS:
0000.145 (0) Output: zip warning: binziptest/test.zip not found or empty
0044.943 (0) [Warning] Ein ZIP-Fehler ist aufgetreten - check your log for more details.
0044.945 (0) The attempt to close the zip file returned an error (PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature). List of files we were trying to add follows (check their permissions).

ERRORS:
0021.882 (0) Binary zip: error (code: 14 - look it up in the Diagnostics section of the zip manual at http://www.info-zip.org/mans/zip.html for interpretation... and also check that your hosting account quota is not full)
0021.886 (0) The attempt to close the zip file returned an error (). List of files we were trying to add follows (check their permissions).

0027.390 (0) Binary zip: error (code: 14 - look it up in the Diagnostics section of the zip manual at http://www.info-zip.org/mans/zip.html for interpretation... and also check that your hosting account quota is not full)

Hi,

Please can you provide a link to your complete log file for the problematic backup? (You can download it from the "Existing Backups" tab of your UpdraftPlus settings page).

It'll be too long to paste into the forum here, but you can download it to your computer, and share it with Dropbox, or paste it in pastebin.com, or any similar service, and post the link here.

Is your hosting company Strato?

I have UpdraftPlus running perfect on several sites. Latest experience is an install that fails, telling me, that the plugin is allready installed. Which is allmost corrects. The files are visible in the plugin folder, but the plugin doesn't show up in the WP plugin menu.

If I delete the files and reinstall the plugin, I get the same message and the files are in the folder again - but not visible in WP?

Does anyone have a clue on this matter?

UpdraftPlus has worked flawlessly since last April until sometimes around Feb. 28 when my last successful backup took place. I have found the following during some basic troubleshooting:

- Selecting "Don't send this backup to remote storage" will allow the backup to complete

- Creating a new S3 user instead of the root user IAM and credentials did not solve the problem

-Uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin did not solve the problem

- The plugin functions until it reaches the point where it "reassembles" the packages on the S3 server, at which point in loops (try 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 etc.) until it times out

- No failure reports are generated or alert emails sent

- My chunk/file size limit is set to 800mb, well below the 5tb max for S3 transfer

- My S3 account is not outstanding any balance nor are there any alerts concerning malfunction

I've used the expert settings to create a log file with debug info hoping someone might be able to help.

Hi Matt,

Do you have any other plugins installed that have functionality for interfacing with Amazon AWS services? If so, try de-activating them, and seeing if that makes a difference.

Failing that, you'll need to find your PHP error log (ask the web hosting company if you're not sure where to find it) - there's likely to be something logged in there. It looks like UD crashes at a certain stage each time - which suggests there's another plugin that's interfering, but seeing the actual logged error will help get a definitive answer.

Hi,

Thanks. You need to enable the "xmlwriter" module in your PHP install on your webserver. It may be uninstalled, or it may be installed but not active. It's installed by default in a PHP install, so I guess that at some point someone de-activated it in your setup.

My website landing page is blank - it just shows a hyperlink: WordPress backups by UpdraftPlus – which leads to UpdraftPlus website.

Yesterday, my host reinstalled last week's back-up - no result.

WP and all plug ins are up-to-date. I deleted UpdraftPlus – no result, and re-installed it – no result.

All other pages are accessible, just my landing page - i.e. possible customers/clients cannot access my website.

Need a fast response on this please. The UpdraftPlus website that customers now access thru my site has no contact facility to the organisation at any level to make a complaint or enquiry unless I make a purchase - not good.

I'd appreciate anyone's help on this, thanks.
