Don't worry about the 'last finished backup run' message; that will show until another run completes, and only indicates a past problem, not necessarily a current one.
What web browser are you using? If "Show expert settings" does nothing, then probably another plugin is causing a conflict. But to see the error message depends upon which browser you're using.
Did you manage to successfully authorise with Google Drive? Google Drive is the hardest to set up - try Dropbox if you want the easiest setup (almost not setup at all!).
